When taking a look and having to pick three chapters out of the Tao of Leadership that best relates and touches home with myself I have to start with what Tao is all about. Chapter 1 Tao means how: how things happen how things work, Tao is the single principle underlying all creation. Thought this reading and the activities i have done it is becoming very clear4 that is is not about wining or losing or how well I may do something, or measuring success or failure, or even the end result of something but it is all about the process that is taking place in the now!! Trying something new, the relationships created, facing a fear, it is simply all about the process taking place.Ch 24 Take it easy, is a saying i like to say and a way i have tried to live life long before I have ever read the Tao but this chapter helps put it in perspective. In the society we live it can make it very challenging to live like this day to day with all the outside pressures of the world breading competition, success, wealth and success with everything we do. It is tying to cover up my in security. In trying to be perfect it takes up all sorts of time and energy that in time will only wear you out and take away from the here which is what really matters.Ch 26 Center and Ground is an aspect of life that I am working on day to day trying to keep the balance. I feel that I am there most of the time but occasionally with all the pressures from the outside world I get thrown of path and become a person i do not like being. I notice when things happen and i stay calm, centered and grounded with myself I am able to work through things with much ez and things work out the best as they possible can. When i get thrown off and fall to much excitement or sadness things become a mess and seems as if i will never get through them. When i am not right i am no help to myself or others.

The firs thing that pops into my head about Paul and his crew Tom, Tomo and Chaudra is how they handled us and our trip was like chapter 8 in the Tao Water. The wise leader is like water, cleanses and refreshes all creatures without distinction and with judgment. We are a group with very different styles of people skill levels and backgrounds but were vary happy to be with all. I was cool to see how they would each give us a bit of attention and if things seemed safe they would let us go and have a crack at whatever it was we desired. The leader acts so that all will benefit and serve well regardless of pay. This aspect was so true of our leaders because i was lucky enough to pick there brains and see where they were living and to many it was no palace but to the it was there place and there heaven and you can see that they did what they did because they love doing it not because it would make them rich. One guide Tomo didn't even get paid for most of the stuff that he did but he was the life of the party and truly loved making the connections with people. We made so much of a connection I told him to ask Adam if he could come to Wellington with us and look now he is here with us and I hope we have made a lifetime bond. Pauly is like chapter 78 Soft and Strong. No matter what happens with the weather, type of people, and things he can not control he just keeps flowing like water eventually water will wear away the rock and the water will change routes but will always be flowing just like Pauly. It was cool to see how they gave us some attention, taught us the basics and would let us go off and get the experiences in doing the activity. They did not judge or measure our ability but let us find our own success know matter what that meant or was. PEACE BE THE Journey " live in the moment cuz the moment is your life"!!!

Outdoor education can simply be defined as experiential learning in or for or about the outdoors. It brings out many aspects of peoples character just depends on was resin ates best with that person. It is seen as adventure ed. programming and outdoor learning adventure therapy, expeditions learning and so much more. One huge aspect about outdoor education is how and what a big part latent learning can play in it. When one is truly in the moment and engulfed in the activity it is amazing what on can learn by just being involved and taking part in the activities. Just as a young child soaks up some much information watching and listing to what is going on around them.

One can simply see adventure tourism by taking part in the adventure activities such as we have done this far caving, climbing , hiking, kayaking , rafting , with alternative tourism thrown in with the night life, hitting the bars and restaurants, our valuable van time or just leisure walks around. But with much deeper impact it about how the economy and environment is affected in the places where these adventures take place. We effect the economy a great deal by taking part in these activities you can look at it in so many ways of being bad or good but again I believe its all about keeping the balance and the respect of these places. Some survive off of the tourism paying there bills and putting food on the table but can be easily taken advantage of of not be a local and coming over and just using the resources just to make a buck driving the cost of living up where the locals have to leave is just not right. I have seen a bit of this here in the outdoor gear side of things in prices because people will pay so the market is driven up but it is good to see it is not at the point where the locals have to leave . Is all about balance and respect and it was cool to see how yes a few of this places are take environmental ware and tear but I feel it is handle well with only a few places taking any kind of wear and tear and leaving the rest untouched.
